Hello,
I've very much appreciated seeing some of the comments by Joel at another site. I'm in old age, enjoying Bible study, praising the Lord! I have a number of hobbies, but lately I've been focused on comparisons of Scriptures about the Rapture, and seeking types in Bible stories. This I just found yesterday, and believe that Psalm 50:3 has marvelous similarities to I Thess. 4:16. Psalm 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
I Thess. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Hi Mary,
Welcome and thanks for your post!
It's great to hear that you enjoy Bible study and praising the Lord!
That's an interesting verse you shared. I believe it tells of the coming of Christ and the day of judgment, not quite the Rapture. Remember, Jesus comes unnoticed by the world at the Rapture, but “every eye will see him” (Rev. 1:7) at the Second Coming - "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence" (Psa. 50:3). The day of judgment (Psa. 50:4) is likewise connected with the Second Coming (Mt. 16:27; 25:31-46).

I've never seen a forum so new before and with so few members. Alas, maybe this forum takes off in the future? Either way my introduction. I'm 39 years old, married with a teenage daughter. I'm a believer, Christ is my redeemer he lives by the power of God Almighty. Happy to discuss the Bible with anyone.
